To Die is to Live

John 12: 20-26

Whilst people across the world are having to learn new habits, old habits die hard! We are ordered to take measures to preserve life, but too many still, it seems, are unconcerned about life beyond death. It was of such that Christ spoke in response to those who had said “we wish to see Jesus”.

With His death close, He says in verse 25 “He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life” - the need is for us to give our life to Him, the One who gave His life for us. Just like a corn of wheat must die in the ground before it can produce grain - verse 25 “but if it dies, it produces much grain”.

Hell is full of unrepentant sinners who failed to realise their need of Christ! So many today think of life as Jesus plus but Jesus plus anything equals nothing! Whilst dealing with the Covid-19 crisis is necessary, dealing with our sin is even more vital!

As the Word teaches, giving our life to Christ is the only way in which we can escape Hell and that only through the eternal life that He has bought for us on Calvary’s cross. Thank you, Jesus.
