Orange Order prepares for Christmas

Orange bobble hats and hand-turned wooden snowmen wearing collarettes are among a selection of items expected to march off the shelves at Schomberg House this Christmas.

Other festive stocking fillers include gents messenger bags, Christmas decorations, a selection of Christmas cards and calendars for 2020.

It is anticipated that the small Santa Nanoblock figures – complete with Orange collarettes – will once again prove popular with members and the wider public.

Grand Lodge services and outreach manager, David Scott, said the Institution’s annual seasonal marketing initiative was always well received, with orders being placed from across the world.

He said: “Every year we like to offer our membership and the public something a little different along with a full range of Christmas-themed products. Already we have seen fantastic interest in the Orange bobble hats, with dozens being ordered both locally and further afield. There’s no doubt they are a real winter warmer!

“We are offering a number of new items this year, including gents messenger bags featuring a distinctive ‘WM’ logo for King William III and Queen Mary II, and the hand-turned wooden snowmen, wearing their Orange regalia of course!

“Our Christmas cards featuring the Orange snowmen are back once again, while we also have a wonderful card of Santa and reindeer over Clifton Street Orange Hall, which is based on a water-colour painting by Robert Anderson.

He added: “Previously we have sent Christmas orders as far as Australia and Canada, across the United Kingdom and beyond – we expect this year to be no different.”

The full range of Christmas gifts are available to purchase now via the online shop at www.grandorangelodge.co.uk or by calling 028 9070 1122 for more information.
