

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT
Fraternal Organisation
In 2018, a Youth Development Officer was employed, as part of the Drew Nelson Legacy Project, to deliver programmes which Support and Empower young people from the Orange Family in every aspect of their lives and to aid their personal and social development.
These programmes are based on the needs of young people and are available throughout the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.
Some of the programmes being delivered are:

Leadership
Confidence and capacity building training to encourage young people from the Orange Family to become strong and capable advocates for Orangeism and become leaders within their communities.

Wellbeing
Confidence and capacity building training to encourage young people from the Orange Family to become strong and capable advocates for Orangeism and become leaders within their communities.
Student Support
Supporting the Students’ Orange Societies at Queen’s and Ulster Universities on their regular events and their general development.
Careers
• Careers and Trade Fairs
• Employability Workshops
• Placement Assistance
• Careers Advice

Networking
Allowing young people to embrace every opportunity by linking them in to programmes, organisations, employers and to each other.

Identity
Delivering historical and cultural workshops to help young people explore and gain an understanding of their own identity and beliefs; but also challenge their current views and allow them to form new ideas and
values.
Good Relations
Providing courses and opportunities for young people to build their confidence and understanding, to enable them to better understand the value of Orangeism in modern society, but to also understand other cultures and beliefs.
