Grand Master Most Wor. Bro. Edward Stevenson has offered the condolences of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland to King Charles III and the Royal Family following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Grand Master said: “It was with profound sadness that the Officers and members of the Loyal Orange Institution heard the news of the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

“We humbly offer our heartfelt condolences to King Charles III and all members of the Royal Family at this time. We trust and pray that they will know God’s grace as they mourn a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

“The passing of Her Majesty in this her Platinum Jubilee year is immensely sad. However, her legacy is one of selfless service to our nation which will never be forgotten. Her unstinting faith, loyalty and devotion to her subjects stands tribute to her, while her strong and dignified leadership was an inspiration to us all.

“The high regard with which Her Majesty is held by the entire Orange Family was visible throughout this Platinum Jubilee year as members of the Orange Institution, their families and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion with a wide range of events.

“As a Loyal Institution, we give thanks for the life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and will mourn her passing with Union flags to be flown at half-mast on Orange Halls.

“Furthermore, all activities of the Loyal Orange Institution, including parades and meetings will cease, with immediate effect, until after the Queen’s funeral and the conclusion of the period of National mourning.

“God Save The King.”
