Grand Chaplains have produced this prayer for the 13th Day, to be used as appropriate and if required.
O Lord our God we bow humbly in Your presence today to acknowledge that You are the one true and living God, the Sovereign Lord who is King of kings and Lord of lords. Father, Son and Holy Spirit we give You praise and thanks for all the many blessings which we enjoy from Your gracious hand. Most of all we give thanks for Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Lord and Saviour. We thank You, Lord that when we confess our sin and trust in Jesus, You, “forgive us our sin and cleanse us from all unrighteousness,” and set us on the road to our eternal home in Heaven.
Our Father God we pray to You, Lord, on this the 330th anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne. Lord we celebrate today in vastly different circumstances from normal, no big parades or public gatherings. May You help us to rejoice in our homes or in smaller events around our Orange Halls. We thank You Father for, “raising up for our deliverance from tyranny and arbitrary power, Your servant, King William III, Prince of Orange.” Lord, we celebrate His victory and the civil and religious liberty we still enjoy as a result.
Today, Lord, we remember all those who have served this country in the Forces of the Crown to defend the freedoms we enjoy. We think of their sacrifice and especially of all who paid the Supreme Sacrifice and our continuing pledge is, “We will remember them.” We pray too, Lord for our gracious sovereign, Queen Elizabeth II. We thank You for her devotion to duty and her faithfulness over so many years. Lord may You bless the Queen and her family each and every day.
We also remember all who are engaged in the current battle against Covid19 and pray that You will bless their efforts against this terrible virus. We give thanks for all the support they have received not least from within our own Institution. Lord we ask for comfort for those who mourn and for healing in Your will for all who are ill at present.
So Lord today we give You all the praise and honour and glory which You alone deserve and offer our prayer and heartfelt thanks in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done;
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory,
for ever and ever.
Amen.
