Chocolate Brownies

Here is a great and easy recipe for tasty chocolate brownies.

It will make approximately 30 buns.


275g of butter softened or baking spread.

375g of castor sugar.

4 eggs.

75g of cocoa powder.

100g of self-raising flour.

1x 100g bar of chocolate.


1. Line a small roasting tin with foil and grease well.

2. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix until well blended. This can be done in a processor mixing bit of the chocolate bar by hand at the last minute.

3. Spoon the mixture into the roasting tin and level at the top. Put the tin in the oven and bake the brownie mixture for about 25 minutes, making sure the top does not get too dark. If it starts to darken, set a baking tray about the brownies for the last 5 minutes.

4. To test brownies place a skewer into the cake. If it comes out cleanly - they are done!

Cool in tin. Remove the foil and the cake from the tin. Store wrapped in foil or in a cake tin in larder. Cut into squares to serve.
